FBI: Dallas ICE Shooter Searched Charlie Kirk Video

FBI Director Kash Patel said the probe into Wednesday’s rooftop shooting at a Dallas ICE facility shows a high degree of pre-attack planning; the 29-year-old suspect, Joshua Jahn, killed one detainee, critically injured two others, and then died by suicide. Agents seized devices and writings showing Jahn downloaded a document titled “Dallas County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management,” used apps in mid‑August to track ICE agent presence, and conducted searches for ballistics and the “Charlie Kirk shot video” in the days before the attack. Investigators recovered a handwritten note expressing intent to terrorize ICE agents and photographed an unspent shell casing marked “ANTI‑ICE,” but the FBI said it has not yet publicly determined a final motive and is examining whether the suspect’s interest in the Kirk assassination indicates ideology or an attempt to emulate that incident. Authorities say Jahn had ties to Fairview, Texas, and Durant, Oklahoma, and worked intermittently in the solar and cannabis industries, while relatives described him as not overtly political. The FBI said the investigation is ongoing and will release further updates when doing so does not compromise the probe.
