Poland to Enforce ICC Warrant Against Netanyahu

Poland has declared it will comply with an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he attends the 80th anniversary of Auschwitz's liberation. The warrant, issued in November, accuses Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant of war crimes related to the Gaza conflict. Although Israel disputes the ICC's jurisdiction, as it is not a signatory to the Rome Statute, Poland insists on adhering to ICC decisions, drawing parallels with the case of Vladimir Putin. Consequently, Netanyahu is not expected to attend the event, which will host numerous world leaders, including Britain's King Charles. This situation underscores ongoing diplomatic tensions and criticisms of the ICC from U.S. lawmakers, with Israel maintaining that the ICC lacks credibility and denies its authority.
