Fire Destroys Historic First Baptist Church in Dallas

A massive fire broke out at the historic First Baptist Church in Dallas on Friday evening, leading to the collapse of its Victorian-style chapel built in 1890. The fire, which took over three hours to extinguish, caused no injuries, although it devastated a significant Texas Historic Landmark. Pastor Robert Jeffress confirmed the incident occurred shortly after a Bible school event for 2,000 children had ended, and he received support from former President Donald Trump. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the FBI. Despite the destruction, Jeffress vowed to rebuild the sanctuary, emphasizing that the church's true foundation is its congregation of 16,000 members.
