Texas Floods Kill Over 100, Spur Relief Efforts
Historic flash floods in Central Texas have resulted in a death toll surpassing 100, including at least 27 girls and counselors from Camp Mystic, as well as numerous children. The flooding was caused by torrential rains that pushed the Guadalupe River to its second-highest recorded level, devastating local communities. Vigils and reunification centers have been established, with faith leaders and residents offering prayers and support. Major Texas sports teams and national leagues have pledged millions of dollars for relief, and prominent figures such as Miranda Lambert and Arch Manning have provided aid and called for donations. Relief efforts also include animal rescues and support for first responders and volunteers. Community and faith leaders continue to emphasize unity and hope as the region faces a long recovery.
