Prominent lawyer Alan Dershowitz has left the Democratic Party, citing the 'most anti-Jewish, anti-Israel, anti-Zionist convention' he has ever experienced at the recent Democratic National Convention. Dershowitz was particularly critical of the platforms given to lawmakers Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders, whom he accused of antisemitism. He also mentioned Vice President Kamala Harris's absence from a joint session of Congress during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address as another reason for his departure. Dershowitz, now an Independent, stated he would decide who to support in the upcoming presidential election based on candidates' stances on Iran and support for Israel. His departure reflects a broader dissatisfaction with what he perceives as growing antisemitism within the Democratic Party.
