Pat Toomey Declares Opposition to Trump, Harris

Former Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey has announced that he will not support either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. In a recent interview, Toomey expressed his disapproval of Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election results, stating, 'When you lose an election and you try to overturn the results so that you can stay in power, you lose me.' He also criticized Harris for her potential policies, warning of 'huge' tax increases and the possibility of a leftward shift in the Democratic agenda. Toomey emphasized that while the election presents a binary choice, he believes it's acceptable not to choose either candidate. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of maintaining Republican control in the Senate to mitigate what he sees as the risks of Democratic governance. Toomey, who served in the Senate until 2022, has been critical of Trump since voting to convict him during his impeachment trial after the January 6 insurrection.
