Toomey emphasized that while the election presents a binary choice, he believes it's acceptable not to choose either candidate. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of maintaining Republican control in the Senate to mitigate what he sees as the risks of Democratic governance. Toomey, who served in the Senate until 2022, has been critical of Trump since voting to convict him during his impeachment trial after the January 6 insurrection.
