Scott Adams, the creator of the Dilbert comic strip, has revealed that he has advanced Stage 4 prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, the same aggressive form of cancer recently disclosed by President Joe Biden. Adams shared on his podcast and in various interviews that his life expectancy may only last until this summer, explaining that his condition causes constant, severe pain, and he has been using a walker for mobility. He expressed sympathy for Biden and noted that he had kept his diagnosis private to avoid being labeled as "just the dying cancer guy," choosing to disclose it now partly because of Biden's public announcement. Adams also acknowledged the likely negative and cruel reactions online, including unfounded claims linking his cancer to the COVID vaccine or lifestyle choices. Despite the grim prognosis, he plans to continue his daily podcast as long as he can tolerate it and mentioned considering California’s End of Life Option Act. Adams described himself as mentally tough, coping with the situation as best as he can, but emphasized the disease's intolerable pain and worsening trajectory.
