EPA Seeks Repeal; Tesla, States Oppose

Tesla — which filed a detailed 27‑page public comment — and other electric-vehicle makers say undoing the Finding would be disruptive or unlawful, would reverse market stability and billions in ZEV-credit revenue, and could hand an advantage to international rivals such as China’s BYD. California officials, including Gov. Gavin Newsom and the California Air Resources Board, strongly oppose the proposal, saying it ignores science and relies on a flawed Department of Energy report. Supporters of repeal, including voices on the right, argue the Finding was an executive overreach and should be rescinded to reduce regulatory burdens.
