Tribute Concert celebrates Jimmy Carter's 100th Birthday

A star-studded concert was held in Atlanta to celebrate former President Jimmy Carter's upcoming 100th birthday on October 1, 2024. The event featured a diverse lineup of artists, including Angélique Kidjo, BeBe Winans, and the B-52’s, with performances celebrating Carter's legacy and his love for music as a unifying force. As the longest-living U.S. president, Carter, who is currently in hospice care, was honored by over 4,000 attendees and received video tributes from notable figures, including President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama. Jason Carter, the former president's grandson, emphasized the significance of this celebration, marking the first time a living president reaches this milestone. Proceeds from the concert will support international programs of The Carter Center, founded by Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter. The event will be broadcasted on Georgia Public Broadcasting on his actual birthday, further highlighting the historical significance of the occasion.
