Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, will be sentenced on December 4 after being found guilty in June of three felony counts related to lying about his drug use while purchasing a firearm in 2018. His sentencing, initially set for November 13, was delayed due to scheduling conflicts with other ongoing legal matters, including a Dec. 16 sentencing for tax-related charges in California. Special Counsel David Weiss opposed the delay, but U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika approved it. Hunter Biden's lawyers cited the need for more time to prepare pre-sentencing materials and the involvement of potential witnesses in the presidential campaign. In addition to his gun charges, Biden's tax charges carry up to 17 years in prison and $1.35 million in fines.
