Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign has reported raising a historic $540 million in just over a month, significantly outpacing former President Donald Trump's fundraising efforts. The surge in donations was particularly strong during the Democratic National Convention, with the campaign noting that nearly one-third of contributions came from first-time donors, predominantly women and young voters. In July alone, Harris raised $204.5 million, compared to Trump's $47.5 million, erasing Trump's previous cash advantage and providing Harris with $219.7 million on hand at the start of August. The campaign has also mobilized extensive volunteer support, with over 200,000 shifts signed up in response to the excitement surrounding Harris' candidacy. As the race develops, Harris appears to be building a formidable grassroots fundraising operation while Trump struggles to keep pace.
