Pizzagate Conspiracist Welch Shot by Police

Edgar Maddison Welch, known for his involvement in the 2016 'Pizzagate' incident, was shot and killed by police in Kannapolis, North Carolina, during a traffic stop on January 4. Welch, who had previously been convicted for firing a gun inside a Washington D.C. pizzeria due to a conspiracy theory, was wanted for a felony probation violation. During the traffic stop, officers recognized Welch and attempted to arrest him, at which point he brandished a handgun at them. After refusing commands to drop the weapon, two officers shot Welch, who later died from his injuries. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the incident, and the officers involved are on administrative leave. Welch's earlier actions were rooted in the unfounded 'Pizzagate' conspiracy, which claimed a child sex trafficking ring was being operated by prominent Democrats from the pizzeria.
