The Republican signatories include Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (Pa.), Mike Lawler (N.Y.), Lori Chavez-DeRemer (Ore.), Nick LaLota (N.Y.), and Anthony D’Esposito (N.Y.). These members have committed to attending the presidential inauguration and speaking out against violence. This effort comes amidst concerns about potential election challenges and violence, reminiscent of the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021. Former President Trump continues to claim the 2020 election was stolen, raising fears of similar actions if he loses again in 2024.
