Zelenskyy Rejects Peace Talks, Putin Amends Nuclear Policy

Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed changes to Russia's nuclear doctrine, suggesting nuclear arms could be used if attacked by any state with the support of a nuclear power. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, addressing the U.N. General Assembly, dismissed peace talks with Russia and emphasized that Russia must be forced into peace, not allowed to negotiate a settlement. He criticized proposals from China and Brazil for peace talks and reiterated that Ukraine will not cede any territory to Russia. Meanwhile, Czech President Petr Pavel suggested that Ukraine may need to be realistic about conceding some territory due to the prolonged conflict.
