Actor Jay Johnston, known for roles in 'Bob's Burgers' and 'Anchorman,' has been sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison for his involvement in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Johnston pleaded guilty to felony obstruction of officers during civil disorder, admitting to participating in a 'heave-ho' push against police and using a stolen riot shield. Prosecutors accused him of spreading disinformation and showing a lack of remorse, citing his 2022 Halloween costume as Jacob 'QAnon Shaman' Chansley. Johnston's lawyer argued that his celebrity status led to unfair treatment by the government. Despite expressing regret during sentencing, he has been blacklisted from his acting career and now works as a handyman. Federal prosecutors had sought an 18-month sentence, but the judge allowed Johnston to remain free until a later report date for prison.
