Aurora Launches US Commercial Driverless Trucking Service

Aurora Innovation has become the first company to launch a commercial driverless trucking service using autonomous Class 8 trucks on public roads in the United States, operating regular deliveries between Dallas and Houston, Texas. The company’s Aurora Driver system has already completed over 1,200 miles of driverless freight deliveries for clients Uber Freight and Hirschbach Motor Lines. Emphasizing safety, efficiency, and reliability, Aurora’s launch follows years of testing and a comprehensive safety review. The company plans to expand its autonomous routes to El Paso, Texas, and Phoenix, Arizona by the end of 2025, aiming to scale from a single truck to a larger fleet.
