House Speaker Urges White House Action on Border

In his first speech to the House chamber, House Speaker Mike Johnson criticized President Biden's handling of the U.S.-Mexico border crisis and urged the White House to act independently rather than wait for Congress to pass legislation. Johnson accused Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas of causing the crisis by deliberately leaving the border open.
