UK Lawmakers Praise Israel's Attacks in Lebanon

At the Conservative Party conference, MP Lincoln Jopp expressed admiration for Israel’s recent attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon, referring to the deployment of explosives in pagers as 'phenomenal' despite the civilian casualties, including children. He noted that while there might be some collateral damage, it is minimal compared to other military operations. Kemi Badenoch, another leadership candidate, also praised Israel's tactics, asserting that they are justified in their fight against Islamist terrorism, which she described as extremely dangerous. Badenoch emphasized her support for Israel's right to defend itself and expressed sympathy for their position amidst international criticism. The attacks, which killed at least 42 people, including children, have been condemned by UN experts as a violation of international law, prompting calls for an investigation. Despite this, both politicians framed Israel's strategy as necessary and effective in combating terrorism.
