Democratic National Convention Highlights Kamala Harris Support

The Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago is set to feature significant support for Vice President Kamala Harris, who is now the Democratic nominee following President Joe Biden's exit from the race. State Senator Laura Fine, a delegate for Harris, expressed her excitement about participating in the convention and emphasized Harris's qualifications. A diverse group of Christians, through an initiative called 'Christians for Kamala,' has raised nearly $200,000 to support Harris's campaign, highlighting progressive Christian values. Additionally, the convention has attracted Republican endorsements, including from former Rep. Adam Kinzinger and Ana Navarro, who cited their opposition to former President Trump as a reason for their support. The DNC is expected to host about 50,000 visitors, with notable speakers including Biden, Jill Biden, and Hillary Clinton. Amidst a theme of unity, delegates will also vote on the Democratic Party platform.
