Poll: Americans Optimistic About Economy Under Trump

This marks the highest level of optimism recorded by Gallup since 2005, with 61% of respondents also expecting the stock market to rise. Public sentiment on unemployment is more divided, with equal percentages (38%) predicting increases and decreases, while 21% anticipate stability. Additionally, 52% foresee rising inflation, although this figure represents a significant decline from previous years. The poll, conducted from January 2 to 15, showcases strong Republican optimism influencing overall economic outlooks, as 78% of GOP respondents expect growth. In contrast, only 21% of Democrats share this positive view on economic growth, although a slim majority expect the stock market to improve.
