19-Year-Old Arrested for Arson at Congressman’s Office
A 19-year-old man from Menasha, Wisconsin, was arrested for setting a fire at a strip mall housing the office of U.S. Representative Glenn Grothman, citing discussions of a TikTok ban as his motive. The incident occurred early Sunday morning, January 19, and was quickly contained by police and fire personnel, with no injuries reported. The suspect admitted to starting the fire in protest of the TikTok ban, for which Grothman had voted. He is currently being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail, and a charge of arson has been referred to the District Attorney's Office. The investigation is still in its preliminary stages, with authorities urging the public to provide any additional information. Rep. Grothman expressed relief that no one was harmed and thanked the first responders for their swift action.
