Trump Confirms Murdochs,Dell,Ellison in TikTok U.S. Deal

President Donald Trump confirmed that American business leaders including Rupert Murdoch, Lachlan Murdoch, Michael Dell, and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison are involved in a U.S. consortium preparing to take over TikTok’s American operations. The deal aims to transfer at least 80% ownership of TikTok's U.S. assets to Americans, with ByteDance, TikTok's Chinese parent company, retaining less than 20% and limited control over governance, security, and the algorithm. Oracle will be responsible for U.S. data storage and cybersecurity, ensuring American servers protect user data, while the algorithm will be retrained and managed in the U.S. to prevent Chinese influence. The new governance structure will feature a seven-member board with six American directors, emphasizing national security and cybersecurity credentials. Trump described the involved parties as "American patriots" and expressed confidence in their capability to manage the platform, noting TikTok’s influence among young voters.
