Trump Inauguration Sets $239 Million Fundraising Record

President Donald Trump raised a record $239 million for his January inauguration, more than double his 2017 total and surpassing the combined inaugural fundraising of former Presidents Obama and Biden. Major donors included about 140 individuals and corporations, such as JPMorgan Chase, Delta Air Lines, Target, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft, each contributing at least $1 million. Tech figures like OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and friends of Elon Musk donated, though Musk and his companies did not. Corporate donations are viewed as an effort to maintain influence with the Trump administration. By law, the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee disclosed all contributions over $200, but is not required to make spending details public. The amount raised far exceeds both Trump's 2017 total of $107 million and Biden’s $61 million in 2021.
