FBI Offers $500K Reward for 2021 DNC, RNC Pipe Bomb Suspect Identity
The FBI continues to seek information on the unidentified suspect who planted pipe bombs outside the Democratic and Republican National Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C., on January 5, 2021, offering a $500,000 reward. New and previously unreleased surveillance footage has been released, showing the suspect's movements, including placing the bombs near the DNC and RNC offices and walking through Capitol Hill neighborhoods. The suspect was described as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gloves, a face mask, glasses, and distinctive Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes, carrying a backpack containing the explosive devices. The bombs, made of galvanized pipes, kitchen timers, wires, and homemade black powder, were rendered safe and did not detonate, but were considered viable and capable of causing serious harm. This renewed release of evidence aims to generate new leads in the ongoing investigation, which remains unsolved despite extensive efforts and numerous arrests related to the Capitol riot. The FBI encourages anyone with information to come forward through its tip line or online submission.
