Biden to Host Quad Summit in Delaware

President Joe Biden will host the fourth in-person Quad Leaders Summit in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, on September 21. This marks the first time Biden is hosting foreign leaders in his home city and reflects his deep personal relationships with the leaders of Australia, India, and Japan. The summit aims to strengthen the strategic convergence among the Quad nations and advance their shared vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific region. Key areas of focus include health security, natural disaster response, maritime security, high-quality infrastructure, critical and emerging technology, climate and clean energy, and cybersecurity. This summit is particularly significant as it will be the final Quad meeting for both Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida, who are not seeking re-election. The meeting was initially planned to be hosted by India but was moved to the U.S. due to scheduling conflicts.
