LULAC Endorses Kamala Harris for President

The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the oldest and largest Latino civil rights organization in the U.S., has made a historic decision to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for the 2024 presidential election, marking its first-ever endorsement of a presidential candidate. This decision was announced through the LULAC Adelante PAC, with chairman Domingo Garcia highlighting the urgent need to address issues facing Latino communities and the broader American populace. The endorsement comes as both candidates seek to galvanize Latino support in critical battleground states, particularly following the launch of their ad campaign targeting these voters. Garcia emphasized the importance of stopping the politics of hate and scapegoating, asserting that Latinos recognize the stakes involved in the upcoming election. LULAC's support is significant, given its 140,000 members, 86% of whom are registered voters, indicating a strong potential influence in key states. The formal announcement will take place at a rally in Las Vegas, further solidifying the group's commitment to the Democratic ticket.
