Seven Jewish Israelis have been arrested on suspicion of espionage for Iran, allegedly completing around 600 missions, including gathering intelligence on sensitive military and infrastructure sites. The suspects, including a soldier who deserted and two minors, are from Haifa and northern Israel and have been accused of espionage for up to two years. They allegedly collected intelligence on sites such as Ramat David Airbase, Nevatim Airbase, and Iron Dome battery sites, which have been targeted by Iranian and Hezbollah attacks. In exchange for their activities, they reportedly received hundreds of thousands of dollars, some in cryptocurrency. Israeli prosecutors consider this one of the most serious espionage cases in recent years and plan to file indictments for security offenses, seeking continued detention of the suspects. The group was reportedly led by an individual receiving orders from a Turkish intermediary, with payments routed through Russian intermediaries.
