Xi and Lula Commit to Development Strategies at G20

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Chinese President Xi Jinping have expressed a commitment to synergize their countries' development strategies to aid Brazil's reindustrialization and foster cooperation among developing nations. During Xi's state visit to Brazil, the two leaders discussed enhancing trade and cooperation in fields such as agriculture, infrastructure, and energy, aiming to deepen strategic mutual trust. At the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Xi emphasized the need for a fair and equitable global governance system and opposed the politicization of economic issues. The summit addressed global challenges like hunger, with the launch of the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty. Both China and Brazil are BRICS members and share common goals, including poverty alleviation. The visit also highlighted China's Belt and Road Initiative as a means to strengthen its influence in South America and build closer ties with Brazil.
