Luna Proposes Death Penalty for Child Sex Crimes

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., is reintroducing three bills in the 119th Congress aimed at imposing the death penalty or life imprisonment for individuals convicted of sex crimes against children. The 'Holding Child Predators Accountable Act' targets those guilty of producing, distributing, or possessing child pornography, while the 'No Repeat Child Sex Offenders Act' expands to include various forms of sexual exploitation and trafficking. Luna emphasizes the severe psychological impact of such crimes, stating that offenders are essentially 'murdering their soul.' She claims to have discussed the proposals with President-elect Donald Trump, who reportedly supports stringent measures against child predators. The bills initially introduced last year failed to gain traction, and Luna believes that the death penalty aspect may deter some lawmakers. Despite potential opposition, she argues that child predators cannot be rehabilitated and must be permanently removed from society.
