Memorial for Fallen Palm Beach Deputies
A memorial service is set for Tuesday to honor Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies Corporal Luis Paez, Deputy Ralph 'Butch' Waller, and Deputy Ignacio 'Dan' Diaz, who died after a crash on Nov. 21. The deputies were conducting traffic enforcement when a Jeep SUV veered off the road, striking them while they were stopped on the shoulder. The procession will begin at 9:30 a.m. from Palms West Funeral Home and move through several areas with significant traffic expected. The public is encouraged to pay their respects by lining the procession route, and Governor Ron DeSantis has ordered flags in Palm Beach to be flown at half-staff. At the memorial service, family members and notable figures including U.S. Rep. Brian Mast will speak. Donations to the Police Benevolent Association Fund are requested in lieu of flowers to support the families of the fallen deputies.
