Prince Andrew Book Edits Epstein Claim After Melania Trump $1B Lawsuit Threat
The book "Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York" by Andrew Lownie, which initially included claims that Jeffrey Epstein introduced US President Donald Trump to his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, has been edited to remove these allegations after legal threats. Approximately 60,000 copies containing the claim were published before the passages were removed from future editions, e-books, and audiobooks following discussions with the publisher HarperCollins UK and the author. Melania Trump, through her lawyer Alejandro Brito, demanded retractions and threatened $1 billion lawsuits against Hunter Biden for repeating similar claims in an interview, as well as against the author and publisher. President Trump publicly supported his wife’s legal actions, denying any involvement by Epstein in their meeting and stating another person was responsible. The book also portrays Prince Andrew negatively, highlighting his long-term association with Epstein and describing him as a "useful idiot" who benefited from Epstein's connections. HarperCollins stated the removals were made to mitigate legal risks, though there was no direct threat from the Trumps to the publisher.
