Harris Narrows Gap with Trump in Polls

As the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election approaches, Vice President Kamala Harris is closing the gap with former President Donald Trump among male voters, trailing by just 1 percentage point according to a recent Economist/YouGov poll. Harris has also seen significant gains among female voters, leading Trump by 13 percentage points in an ABC News/Ipsos poll. Harris' overall lead is narrow, with a slight advantage in some swing states, but polls show her lead has been decreasing in recent weeks. Nate Silver's forecast model now gives Trump a slight edge in the Electoral College. Despite these fluctuations, Harris has overtaken Trump nationally in several recent polls, although her margins remain within the margin of error.
