A recent Monmouth University poll indicates that 53% of these previously disillusioned voters now support Harris, while only 11% back Trump. Enthusiasm among independents has also increased from 34% to 53%, while Republican enthusiasm remains unchanged at 71%. Harris's support among younger voters aged 18-35 has risen to 53%, compared to 33% for Biden. This shift has also led to a slight lead for Harris over Trump in national polling, with 48% to Trump's 43%. Polling officials note that these changes represent a significant transformation in the 2024 election landscape, attributing it largely to Harris's candidacy.
