Biden Approves Student Debt Relief for 150,000

Since taking office, Biden has enacted about $183.6 billion in student debt relief, the most by any administration in U.S. history, following the Supreme Court's rejection of a broader debt forgiveness plan. Biden emphasized the importance of making higher education accessible, while facing criticism from Republicans and individuals who have repaid their loans. The Education Department's distribution includes $465 million through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program and significant funds directed towards defrauded students.
