CIA Director Ratcliffe Says Statute Limitations May Not Block Russiagate Charges Against Obama Officials
CIA Director John Ratcliffe stated that statute of limitations likely will not prevent potential charges against former President Barack Obama and key Obama administration intelligence officials, including John Brennan and James Clapper, over alleged conspiracies to undermine President Donald Trump by fabricating or politicizing intelligence related to Russian interference in the 2016 election. Ratcliffe emphasized that the conspiracy is considered ongoing, which delays the statute of limitations, and asserted there is "no doubt" these officials conspired against Trump and the American people. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard declassified documents supporting claims that the Obama administration directed intelligence officials to manipulate intelligence assessments to falsely link Trump to Russia. Gabbard and Ratcliffe highlighted a meeting allegedly held by Obama and intelligence chiefs after the 2016 election to plan the so-called "Russia Hoax." Ratcliffe also mentioned that a classified 29-page document from Special Counsel John Durham's investigation into the FBI's handling of the Russia probe will soon be released, with testimony contradicting previous intelligence releases. He left the investigation and potential charges to the Department of Justice and FBI, indicating ongoing efforts to hold those involved accountable.
