Trump Hosts White House Halloween with National Fresh Produce Contribution

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted their annual Halloween celebration at the White House, welcoming thousands of children and families for trick-or-treating on the South Lawn, featuring festive decorations such as colorful fall leaves and pumpkins. The event included activities like crafting postcards with the U.S. Postal Service and a giant pumpkin photo opportunity organized by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) contributed 7,500 apples from Washington and New York, along with pumpkins and flowers, emphasizing the importance of fresh, nutritious produce in celebrations. Frey Farms supplied various pumpkins, and flowers were provided by Metrolina Greenhouses, with all pumpkin donations intended for use in meals by the nonprofit DC Central Kitchen. The festivities also honored families from the public, military, law enforcement, foster and adoptive communities, and administration officials, promoting community connection through fresh fruits and seasonal decorations. IFPA's CEO highlighted the event as a special occasion to share the joy and nourishment of fresh produce and florals with families nationwide, reflecting a commitment to healthy eating and American-grown products.
