Justice Department Launches Task Force to Prosecute Hamas Terrorists

The U.S. Justice Department has established Joint Task Force October 7 (JTF 10-7) to prosecute those responsible for the October 7, 2023, terrorist attack by Hamas in Israel, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people, including 47 Americans. Attorney General Pamela Bondi announced the initiative will target the direct perpetrators of the attack and those financing Hamas, while also addressing civil rights violations and acts of antisemitism linked to Hamas supporters. The task force will collaborate with the FBI and Israel’s counter-terrorism agencies to dismantle financial networks supporting Hamas and investigate incidents of antisemitism in the U.S. This initiative follows previous charges against Hamas leaders and increased scrutiny of pro-Palestinian activism on U.S. campuses, including the arrest of a Columbia University student for alleged support of Hamas. Bondi emphasized the commitment of the U.S. to seek justice for the victims and counter antisemitism, stating, 'The barbaric Hamas terrorists will not win—and there will be consequences.'
