Hiroki Totoki Named CEO Amid Sony Restructuring

Sony Group Corporation has announced the promotion of Hiroki Totoki to the role of CEO, effective April 1. Totoki, who has been with Sony for 38 years and previously served as COO and CFO, was unanimously approved by Sony's board to succeed Kenichiro Yoshida, who will remain as chairman. This change is part of a broader restructuring aimed at long-term growth, with Hideaki Nishino becoming the sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Hermen Hulst leading the game studio business, and Lin Tao taking over as the new CFO. Sony clarifies roles across its businesses, reflecting a strategy to further evolve and grow under Totoki's leadership, who has been instrumental in navigating challenges like the PlayStation 5 supply shortages. The restructuring includes other notable appointments, such as Ravi Ajuja as the head of Sony’s Pictures Business.
