Green, an 11-time Grammy winner, aims to infuse the original's heaviness with a sense of hope and light, stating, 'There’s always a presence of light that can break through those times of darkness.' R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe expressed deep appreciation for the reinterpretation, calling it an 'epic moment' for the band. This release follows Green's 2023 cover of Lou Reed's 'Perfect Day,' highlighting his ongoing musical relevance. The new rendition showcases Green's signature style, blending gospel roots with profound emotional depth. The track is produced by Clay Jones and Fat Possum Records and features arrangements by Stax legend Lester Snell.
