Linda McMahon Seeks Dismissal of WWE Ring Boy Lawsuit

Linda McMahon's legal team has filed a Motion to Dismiss the 'Ring Boy' lawsuit, which alleges negligence in connection with sexual abuse by former WWE employee Mel Phillips in the 1980s. The lawsuit, brought by five anonymous plaintiffs, relies on Maryland's Child Victims Act of 2023, which allows victims to bypass the statute of limitations for civil lawsuits related to child sexual abuse. McMahon's attorneys argue that she has no significant connection to Maryland, claiming her only ties are a wrestling license from 2004 and a rental apartment from the 1970s. In a signed declaration, McMahon denied any knowledge of or interaction with the plaintiffs and stated that she never supervised Phillips. The case has been revived after a ruling upheld the constitutionality of the Child Victims Act. If McMahon's motion is successful, it could restrict the plaintiffs' ability to pursue their claims elsewhere due to differing statutes of limitations.
