Putin Plans First Russia-Arab Summit October 15

Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended an invitation to all heads of state of the League of Arab States (LAS) and its Secretary-General to attend the first-ever Russia-Arab summit, scheduled for October 15. Putin expressed confidence that the summit would strengthen multifaceted cooperation between Russia and Arab nations and aid in promoting peace, security, and stability in the Middle East and North Africa. In a message to the 34th LAS Summit, Putin emphasized the importance of resolving regional disputes through political means based on international law and respecting state sovereignty, highlighting the Arab League's role as a vital forum for dialogue. The invitation comes amid recent high-level engagements between Russia and Arab leaders, as well as significant U.S. diplomatic and economic activities in the Gulf region. The Arab League consists of 22 member states committed to cooperation on political, economic, and military affairs in the region. The upcoming summit marks a milestone in Russia's efforts to deepen ties with the Arab world amid ongoing regional challenges.
