Keeling, a Louisville native, has a significant background in safety, having served as the director of global road and transportation safety at Amazon and as vice president of global health and safety at UPS. In a LinkedIn post, Keeling expressed gratitude for the nomination and his eagerness to enhance OSHA’s mission if confirmed. Concerns have been raised by industry experts about whether Keeling can bring the necessary innovation and change to an agency that many believe is overdue for reform. Keeling's confirmation hearing before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee has not yet been scheduled. If confirmed, he would succeed Doug Parker, who led OSHA until January 20.
