Cities Offer Free Rides for New Year's Eve

Various public transit agencies across the U.S. are providing free rides on New Year's Eve to encourage safe celebrations and prevent drunk driving. In Ocean City, Maryland, free bus rides will be available until 3 a.m., while L.A. Metro in Los Angeles also offers free rides from 4 a.m. until 3 a.m. the following day. Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is partnering with Molson Coors to provide free rides from 6 p.m. until the end of service, with similar initiatives in cities like Charlotte, Chicago, and Denver. The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada is also offering free rides across all transit routes for the occasion. San Diego's MTS will provide free rides on all bus and trolley services, extending service late into the night. These efforts aim to promote responsible celebrations and reduce the risk of impaired driving during the holiday festivities.
