Derby Desperado Arrested in Grapevine
Justin Lee Chambers, dubbed the 'Derby Desperado' by the FBI, was apprehended in Grapevine, North Texas, in connection with two recent bank robberies. Chambers, 40, is accused of robbing the Texans Credit Union in Garland on July 3 and the Capital One Bank in Dallas on July 12, using a demand note and fleeing in a dark SUV. He wore a dark suit, fedora, and a KN95 mask during the heists. The arrest was a joint effort by the FBI Dallas Division’s Violent Crime Task Force and the Dallas Police Department. Chambers remains in Dallas County Jail and will be charged through the U.S. Attorney's Office, Northern District of Texas. The investigation is ongoing to determine if he is linked to additional crimes.
