Michigan LDS Attack Kills One, Wounds Nine
On Sept. 28, a 40-year-old man drove his vehicle through the front doors of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan during Sunday sacrament services for a roughly 150-member congregation, then opened fire and set the building on fire. The attacker killed one congregant and wounded nine others, police said, and officers engaged and killed the shooter at the scene. First responders extinguished the blaze and transported victims to local hospitals while investigators warned the scene remained active. Authorities identified the suspect as a 40-year-old man from Burton, Michigan; motive is unknown and the FBI has taken the lead on the federal investigation. President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social calling the incident 'yet another targeted attack on Christians' and describing the violence as an epidemic, and local and state officials pledged support for the community.
