Trump International Golf Course Reports £1.4M Loss

Donald Trump's golf course in Aberdeenshire, Trump International Golf Club Scotland, reported its 11th consecutive annual loss, totaling £1.4 million for 2023, nearly doubling from £738,000 in 2022, with cumulative losses exceeding £16 million since opening in 2012. Despite a rise in turnover from £3.59 million to £3.74 million, the increase in operational costs and a significant rise in tournament and marketing expenditures contributed to the losses. The company attributed the financial strain to higher energy costs and expenses related to hosting the PGA Seniors Championship in August 2023. The golf course is also undergoing development for a second 18-hole course, expected to open in 2025. Eric Trump expressed optimism about future revenue growth due to increased investments and a boost in the venue's profile. Meanwhile, Trump's other Scottish golf course, Turnberry, reported a profit of £3.8 million for 2023, signifying a positive trend amidst ongoing challenges at the Aberdeenshire site.
