NFL Awards 35 Compensatory Picks for 2025 Draft
The NFL has awarded a total of 35 compensatory picks to 15 teams for the upcoming draft, with the Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, and Baltimore Ravens receiving the maximum of four picks each due to their losses in free agency. These compensatory picks are distributed between the third and seventh rounds based on a formula that accounts for the number and quality of free agents lost versus acquired. Additionally, special third-round picks were granted to the 49ers, Rams, and Lions for hiring minority candidates as head coaches or general managers. The Ravens, who have historically excelled in this area, will now hold 11 picks in the April draft, including four compensatory selections. The overall draft order is now set, with teams like the Eagles not receiving any compensatory picks this year due to their active signings in free agency. The draft will take place from April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
