Anne Hathaway to Star in 'Verity' Adaptation

Anne Hathaway will star as Verity Crawford in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling thriller 'Verity', with direction by Michael Showalter for Amazon MGM. The film follows Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer hired to complete the works of the incapacitated famous author Verity Crawford, only to uncover dark secrets about the author's past. This adaptation comes after the success of Hoover's previous screen adaptation, 'It Ends With Us', which grossed $349 million globally. Hathaway, Hoover, and Showalter will serve as producers for the film, though casting for Lowen and Jeremy Crawford is yet to be announced. 'Verity' was initially self-published in 2018 and later picked up by Grand Central Publishing in 2021. The movie's release date has not yet been confirmed.
