FIFA Launches Global $100M Education Fund Backed by World Cup Sales

The FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund is accepting applications for its 2025-2026 cycle, offering grants between $50,000 and $250,000 to grassroots organizations that provide education and sports access to children in underserved communities worldwide. This initiative is a collaboration between FIFA and Global Citizen, aiming to enhance educational infrastructure and inclusive practices by supporting community-based groups serving 500 to 10,000 individuals with proven financial stability. The fund has a $100 million target, with $30 million already raised, including $1 from each ticket sold for the 2026 World Cup hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Ivanka Trump, along with celebrities like Serena Williams, Shakira, and Hugh Jackman, serves on the advisory board, which provides strategic guidance to maximize the fund's impact. FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized the fund's role in transforming football into a force for opportunity and learning, with half of the funds supporting grassroots education in over 200 countries and the other half directed to FIFA's Football for Schools program in partnership with UNESCO. The first round of grant recipients will be announced in early 2026, inviting organizations working at the intersection of education and sport to apply.
