Pardoned January 6 Rioter Shot During Indiana Traffic Stop
Matthew Huttle, a 42-year-old man recently pardoned by Donald Trump for his involvement in the January 6 Capitol riot, was fatally shot during a traffic stop by a Jasper County sheriff's deputy on Sunday. The Indiana State Police reported that an altercation occurred when Huttle allegedly resisted arrest, leading to the deputy firing his weapon. Huttle was found to be in possession of a firearm at the time of the stop, although the reasons for the traffic stop and the specifics of the confrontation remain undisclosed. Following the incident, the deputy has been placed on paid administrative leave, and an investigation is underway. Huttle had previously served time for entering a restricted area during the Capitol riot, for which he was pardoned shortly before his death. This incident adds to the ongoing discussions surrounding the consequences of the January 6 events and the subsequent pardons issued by Trump.
